Redefining Community for
the Millennial Generation.

Millennials once flocked to cities for job opportunities and proximity to culture, diverse community and convenience. Now as they face the realities of raising children and growing their families, the big cities they love are losing their appeal. Painted Prairie, a neo-traditional planned community in Denver is a revitalization of the suburbs that infuses an urban walkable lifestyle.

Kley worked with The Voyager Group and Alberta Development to create a new visual identity system and digital experience that would communicate this suburban-urban community in a manner that would appeal to young families looking to leave the city without sacrificing the aspects of urban life they loved.e

Community
Built on Synergy.

We developed a logotype for Painted Prairie and a stylized “P” mark set against a rich color palette derived from the prairie itself. Through a unique iconography system inspired by Painted Prairie’s surroundings and community offerings, we conveyed the diverse, multitude of experiences the community brought together from trails and parks to restaurants and bars.

The playful identity served as a mark for both the residential neighborhood and the entertainment district, highlighting the connection between the suburban and urban.

A New Website to Reflect a New Take on Urban Living.

We developed a logotype for Painted Prairie and a stylized “P” mark that when flipped upside down provided the identity for the community’s urban center, City Lake “CL”, connecting the suburban to the urban. Through a unique iconography system inspired by Painted Prairie’s surroundings and community offerings, we conveyed the diverse, multitude of experiences the community brought together from trails and parks to restaurants and bars.
